Image Lightboxes and Popovers are both ways editors can add secondary information to their content, keeping it out of the way until clicked on by the viewer.
Image Lightboxes can be identified by a picture icon following a hyperlink. Clicking the link will open a picture in an overlay on top of the page’s content.

Popovers can be identified by a speech bubble icon. Hovering over or clicking the icon will open the content of the Popover in a small overlay.

There are a few key differences between these two element. Most notably, Popovers can contain HTML content that is editable within Ondexx, while Lightboxes can only contain a single image.
In most situations, Popovers allow for the most flexibility, as Popover content can be accessed and edited at any time. Popovers are also managed separately from the page in the Popover Manager menu, found under Administration > Content > Popovers.
Image Lightboxes are best to quickly insert an image, while keeping it out of the way of other content in the page. They are created entirely within the Page Editor, by applying the “fxImageLightbox” class to an image link.
