Background
Each site has many options that can be configured, to help customize the experience of using the site, and tailor the site to its desired purpose.
These settings can be edited by any user with the Configure Site right (typically the Site Owner), and can be found under Administration > Site Management > Site Settings.
This article will describe each site setting in detail, which can be updated at any time. After making changes to these settings, click the SAVE button at the bottom of the page.
Identity

Site Name
Site Name is the name of the site, which can be changed at any time. This is a required field.
Description
Description is an optional description of the site’s purpose. This is shown when a user is applies for access, which may not be enabled for every site.
Security

Site Access
The Site Access option controls which user-types are permitted in the site:
- Internal Users allows designated “internal” users to use and apply for access to the site.
- Internal and External Users allows both internal and external users to use and apply for access to the site.
- Private allows only internal users to use the site and prevents users from applying for access. In other words, the site is “invite only“.
If “Internal and External” Site Access is selected, the Public ‘Access Request’ Form setting determines if the site will appear on a public-facing access request form.
Access Controls
The Page Access Controls and Component Access Controls options toggle Page and Component Viewing Permissions for the site.

Settings

Annotations
The Annotations toggle controls page annotations in a Site. If enabled, the “Annotations” page action will appear in pages, allowing users to leave a virtual personal note on a page.
“Global Annotations” are only visible and editable by users with the appropriate Rights.
Content Export
The Content Export toggle controls if pages can be exported as PDF or MS Word documents. If enabled, this can be configured granularly with the following options:
- Allow live pages to be exported as PDF
- Allow live pages to be exported as MS Word
- Allow draft pages to be exported as PDF
- Allow draft pages to be exported as MS Word
Additionally, if Content Export is enabled, these options will be controlled by specific Rights.
Search Options
The Default Query-Type Option allows the Search Bar’s default query-type to be chosen for the Site:
- Broad Match queries will return results that fully or partially match any of search terms in any order. For example, searching for
quick foxwould match the contentquick brown fox, and alsoVisual FoxPro used to be a quick database. - Exact Match queries will return results that fully or partially match all of search terms in the exact order as entered. For example, searching for
quick foxwould not match the contentquick brown foxbut searching forqu b fwould matchquick brown fox.
File Manager
The File Manager option toggles the appearance the “File Storage” button, allowing direct access to the File Manager. This is also controlled by the “View File Manager” rights.
Forum
The Forum option creates/toggles access to the Site’s forum, which will be accessible to all users of the site. Options for the forum itself can be configured in the forum’s configuration page.
Notifications

Initial Frequency
The Initial Frequency option allows a default frequency for the “New and Updated Content” notification to be set for new users:
- Never
- Instant
- Daily
- Weekly
Users can change this frequency at any time after they are onboarded.
Enforced Notification Frequency
The Enforced Notification Frequency option allows the frequency for the “New and Updated Content” notification to be set for all users in the site:
- Never
- Instant
- Daily
- Weekly
Users cannot change this frequency.
Limit Scope
The Limit Scope option limits which pages will appear in “New and Updated Content” notification emails, to only include pages in Modules with the “Dashboard Widget” option enabled.
Workflows

Draft Page Locking
This option will enable the Draft Page Locking optional workflow. Once enabled, the following default lock state for when new pages or new page drafts can be configured.

Page Approval Sign-off
This option will enable the Content Sign-Off optional workflow, which allows the a specific user to provide their sign-off before a page can be published.

Page Attachments
This option will enable the Page Attachments optional workflow, allowing use of the “Attachments” built-in page component.

Page Certification
This option will enable the Page Certification optional workflow, which is used to periodically review and certify pages in a Site.

Page Version Classification
This option will enable the Page Version Classification optional workflow, which is used to classify new page versions with a custom classification category.
Once enabled, Classification Categories can be specified, and the validation for the “Page-Version” field can be chosen.

Task Management
This option will enable the Task Management optional workflow, which allows for tasks related to page drafts to be created and assigned to Editors.
Deleting the site
Sites can be deleted by clicking the “Delete this site” button. This will make the site completely inaccessible, expiring all content and revoking access to all users.
Deleting a site will make it completely inaccessible to all users, including Super Administrator. Sites that are deleted cannot be restored without assistance from Red Wolf.
