Requesting access to sites

Background

Ondexx users have the ability to apply for access to sites in the instance — if the sites are configured to allow applicants. Administrators can then review, approve or decline the user’s application to access to the site.

Depending on the instance, a public-facing application form may also be available, allowing people that are not yet users in the instance to apply for access.

Applying to sites internally

To view the sites available to apply for access, click Sites > All Available Sites.

This will show a list of sites in the instance you can request access to, depending on the your account type. Sites you can already access will also be listed.

To apply for access to a site, click the corresponding Request Access button. Then click Confirm.

Note that access requests are subject to approval by the site’s administration. You will be notified of their decision by email.

Applying to sites externally

Depending on the instance’s configuration, a public-facing application page may be available. This allows non-users to request access to the instance, and any publicly listed sites. For users that already have an account, they will need to make their access requests internally.

To view the external application page, click Request Access on the login page.

If Single Sign-On is enabled for the instance, the applicant will be asked if they are an employee of the Ondexx instance’s company of the Ondexx instance. If so, they will be invited to log in with SSO, and apply for site access internally.

If Single Sign-On is not enabled for the instance (or the applicant is not an employee of the instance’s company), the applicant will need to fill out a form with their information, and select the sites to which they would like to request access.

Note that access requests are subject to approval by the site’s administration. The user will be notified of their decision by email.
