Content Templates Overview

General Overview

Content Templates (not to be confused with Component Templates) are pieces of custom content that can quickly be inserted into any Page Editor by any user. Content Templates can be used to make pages faster, and more efficiently.

A common use for Content Templates are pre-formatted tables, but any content that you find yourself constantly re-using is a great candidate to be made into a Content Template!

Using the Content Template Manager

The Content Template Manager is used to edit, add, and remove Content Templates. This page can be found under Administration > Content > Content Templates

The Content Template Manager can be viewed and used by any user with the Edit Pages right.

Adding New Content Templates

  1. Click + Add to enter the Content Template Editor.
  2. Fill out the Name field.
  3. Enter your desired content in the Template field.
  4. Click Save. Your Content Template has been created.

Editing Existing Content Templates

  1. Locate the Content Template you wish to edit, and click Edit
  2. Modify the Name and Template fields as desired.
  3. Click Save. Your Content Template has been edited.

Removing Content Templates

  1. Locate the Content Template you wish to remove, and click Delete
  2. Click OK to confirm the removal. Your Content Template has been removed.

Inserting Content Templates

Content Templates can be added to any content, from any Editor (i.e. Page Editor, Listing Content, etc.)

To insert a Content Template to a page, click the Insert Template button in the toolbar, and select the desired snippet for a dropdown. Clicking Insert Template will now insert the selected snippet.

To change the selected snippet, click the small arrow on the Insert Template button, and select a template from the dropdown.
