An Ondexx “Manual” is now referred to as a “Site”

An Ondexx “Snippet” is now referred to as a “Content Template” (or just “Template”)

Enduser, End-User or User is typically a front-line worker who is a consumer of information (read-only) on the Ondexx Platform.

Editor (Content Management) is typically responsible for developing, publishing, and distributing content on the Ondexx Platform.

Administrator (User Management) is typically responsible for User onboarding as well as for creating and managing User Rights, Roles, and Permissions on the Ondexx Platform.

• Content Management Changes
  • All command hyperlinks in the Content Management callout related to content creation have been moved to a dedicated menu, called the button.
  • All command hyperlinks in the Content Management callout related to workflow have been moved to a dedicated menu.
    • The Content Management callout has been removed from the Page Details column.
• Page Action Changes
  • All of the command hyperlinks in the Page Actions callout related to workflow have been moved to a dedicated menu.
    • The Page Actions callout has been removed from the Page Details column.

• Page Activity interface has been standardized in all locations 
  • i.e. Page, Page Editor, Draft Console, Approval Queue
• Page Outline functionality is now generally available.
• Administration Sub menu has been moved from the site’s content navigation menu into its own dedicated menu into the Identity Area of the page. 
• Users, Roles, and Groups can be added from the button.
  • A shortcut for Administrators and other User Managers

• Files Sub menu has been moved from the site’s content navigation menu into its own dedicated menu into the Identity Area of the page. 
• Labels display and editing of a page has been moved from the Details callout to an area just below a page’s title & description.
• User Feedback messages will now float over the page instead of displaying inline. 
  • Messages will be centered and appear near the top of the browser window.
• The names of various actions, fields, and page properties & attributes have been simplified (e.g. “Configuration – Global User Management Console” is now just “User Management Console”).

• The Page Editor has been redesigned and redeveloped from scratch.
• The layout has been optimized to use all of the available space on all screens.
• The layout of the Properties and Attributes sections has been redesigned to improve legibility and access to information.
• The layout and presentation of Form Validation Feedback have been greatly improved.
• The Keywords Editor can now undo changes.
• Unsaved changes to a page’s Properties, Attributes, and Layout are now highlighted.
• The state of the page (i.e. saved or unsaved) is now clearly indicated.
• The Editor will now automatically sanitize the clipboard when pasting content into the Editor window. This improves the editor’s performance and reduces the page load time in both edit-mode and view-mode.
• Ondexx will now extract, save, and replace an image within your content when you next save the draft and paste the image directly into the Content Editor.

• The Components section features improved usability:
  • The Component Library is now searchable
  • Adding a Document Viewer or E-Learning Course is much easier
  • You can now drop & drag Components in and out of the page layout and re-order the Components on the page.
  • Adding, removing, or recording the components will immediately be reflected in the Content Editor’s “Component” menu.
  • You no longer need to save a draft when changing a page’s Components before being able to edit content.
• Images pasted into the Editor will be extracted and saved to the File Manager  when you next save the draft
  • This allows pasted files to be managed with the File Manager, as you can any file uploaded to Ondexx
• This improves the editor’s performance and reduces the page load time in both edit-mode and view-mode.

• An Attributes dropdown menu has been added to the editor which enables you to place Attribute value merge-tags into your content.
• The DocumentViewer now features better support for PDFs with annotations, improved performance, and display.
• New Disaster Recovery auto-backup & restore functionality:
  • Any and all changes to a page, including its metadata and content, are backed up to a secondary network location every 30 seconds.
    • **Please note that this is not an “autosave” feature; you must still SAVE your changes — which continues to be referred to as a “Revision”.
  • The auto-backup history is not currently available to Editors but will become available in a subsequent release.
  • If the Editor times out or throws an error; the error alert will present the latest local backup for download and safe-keeping.
  • Users can save a local backup on demand.
  • The Self-Serve restore function allows Editors to restore any local backup file at any time.
  • Customer Support personnel will be able to access the entire server-side autosave records in the event of local data loss.
